Captains

Ella Chin— Class of 2026

Major: Politics, Philosophy, & Economics Minor: Business Administration From: Wyckoff, NJ

This is Ella’s second year in mock trial at Northeastern, but she competed for four years in high school! This year she is a captain and the defense opener. Ella is also a member of the Korean-American Student Association and The PPE club. Ella is looking forward to meeting new people, competing against tough cases, and practicing thinking on her feet!

Archit Mehrotra— Class of 2025

Major: Political Science and Economics Minor: Law & Public Policy From: Southborough, MA

This is Archit’s third year in the club as a closing attorney and his first year as the club’s Secretary! Along with mock trial, Archit is a Resident Assistant, Political Science Peer Mentor, and a CSSH Ambassador. Archit is looking forward to socializing with everyone and improving his confidence and public speaking abilities!

Vince Papillo— Class of 2025

Major: Political Science and Environmental Studies From: Long Island, NY

This is Vince’s third year in mock trial, where he competed as an attorney for one year, and a character witness for two! Besides mock trial, he is involved in Survivor Northeastern and Phi Alpha Delta. Vince is looking forward to travel tournaments and learning more about the law.

Courtney Casaletto— Class of 2025

Major: History and Political Science From: Saugus, MA

Courtney is a prosecution middler! Courtney joined mock trial last year after competing in high school and she wants to continue to develop her public speaking skills and get into the nitty-gritty of this year’s case. Courtney is a member of Phi Alpha Delta and mock trial’s very own book club! Courtney is looking forward to having fun with the mock family this season.

Ollaya Krikib— Class of 2027

Major: Bioengineering Minor: Criminal Justice From: Boston, MA

This is Ollaya’s first year in college mock trial as the defense middler, but she competed for two years in high school. Ollaya is looking forward to having fun at tournaments and making connections with her teammates while building her argumentation skills!

Crystal Lin— Class of 2025

Major: Economics and Mathematics Minor: Sociology and Data Science From: Minnesota

Crystal is the defense closer on B team! This is Crystal’s second year in college mock trial along with four years of experience in high school. Along with mock trial, Crystal is on the executive board for orchestra and Women in Economics. This year she hopes to continue building bonds with other members and see what teams are doing Poe Cameron prosecutions!

Nicholas White— Class of 2027

Major: Cybersecurity Minor: Political Science From: Charlotte, NC

This is Nicholas’ first year in mock trial as the prosecution opener! In addition to mock trial, Nicholas is a member of NU Debate Society, carrying on his four-year-long debate career in high school. He is looking forward to having fun, meeting new people, and learning new things!

Nethra Iyer— Class of 2024

Major: Chemical Engineering Minor: English From: Edison, NJ

This is Nethra’s third year in mock trial as a character and expert witness! She is also a member of NU Sci and Research. As it is her last year at Northeastern, Nethra is looking forward to having a good end to college with a great group of people!

Riya Jha— Class of 2025

Major: Criminal Justice and Psychology Minor: Law & Public Policy From: Long Island, NY

This is Riya’s third year in mock trial as a character witness! Along with mock trial she is the Apparel Chair for Sigma Kappa, the New Membership Chair for Phi Alpha Delta, and the Executive Director of the Women’s Council in the Interdisciplinary Women’s Collaborative. This year she hopes to make it to ORCS!
