Meet the members of A Team

Captains

Kaedyn Murphy— Class of 2025

Major: History Minor: Criminal Justice and Argumentation & Law From: Portland, OR

This is Kaedyn’s second year in college mock trial as a defense closer. She also brings her three years of high school mock trial experience. Kaedyn represents the club in the Student Government Association as our senator and also competes in intramural soccer! Kaedyn is looking forward to getting close with the team and building her critical thinking skills by arguing case law and objections.

Maddie Stanton— Class of 2024

Major: Mathematics and Accounting From: Long Island, NY

Maddie is the prosecution opener on A team. This is her fourth year in college mock trial and she is currently serving as our Vice President. Maddie also participates in Peace Through Play when she isn’t doing mock trial. Maddie wants to get to know the new members and create some fun memories (and maybe a few wins as well)!

Andrew Vandewater— Class of 2026

Major: Politics, Philosophy, & Economics Minor: Computer Science From: Cincinnati, OH

This is Andrew’s second year as a character and expert witness! Andrew is hopeful the team will make it to ORCS based on our early success this season!

Noelle Furnanz— Class of 2026

Major: Criminal Justice Minor: Law & Public Policy From: Portland, OR

This is Noelle’s second year in college mock trial after competing for two years in high school. Along with her role as the prosecution middler, she is the Communications Director for the club! Noelle is also involved in Student Alliance for Prison Reform, and is a research assistant in the Center on Crime, Race, and Justice. Noelle is looking forward to making more memories with everyone and building up the club for future years!

Christine Guarnieri— Class of 2025

Major: Data Science and Business (Finance) From: Richmond, VA

Christine is a double-benched attorney as the prosecution closer and defense middler on A Team! This is her third year in mock trial at Northeastern and her second year as the club’s Treasurer. Along with mock trial, Christine is a member of Delta Phi Epsilon. Christine hopes to continue to make friends in mock trial this year, so she’s looking forward to all the social events!

Talia Richland— Class of 2025

Major: History, Culture, & Law and Political Science (concentrating in Gender Studies) From: Denver, CO

Talia is the defense opener on A team. It is Talia’s second year in mock trial and her first year as the Social Chair for the club. She also is a member of Phi Alpha Delta, a CSSH Ambassador, and a research assistant on campus. Talia is looking forward to making more memories with all her favorite people!

Witnesses

Aundre Hamilton— Class of 2025

Major: Criminal Justice From: Lakewood, NJ

This is Aundre’s second year in mock trial as a character witness! Along with mock trial, Aundre is involved in club rock climbing at Northeastern. This year, Aundre wants to get more experience stepping outside of his comfort zone with characters and building friendships on travel tournaments! 

Nami Pusalkar— Class of 2027

Major: Criminal Justice and Psychology Minor: International Affairs From: Westford, MA

Nami is a character and expert witness. This is Nami’s first year in mock trial but they competed as an attorney for all four years of high school. As a freshman, Nami is still looking for what other clubs they might potentially join. In mock trial, however, Nami is looking forward to the community bond and getting some new experience on the witness side of mock trial.

Odessa Sanchez— Class of 2026

Major: International Affairs & Criminal Justice From: San Francisco, CA

Odessa is a character witness! This is her first year in mock trial, but she has been doing theater for years which has helped her develop her public speaking skills. Odessa is also a member of International Relations Council, Student Alliance for Prison Reform, botanical society, and C.A.S.E.! As it is her first year in mock trial, Odessa wants to get a better feel for the law in a playful and competitive manner while building friendships!
