Opening Round Championship Series - ORCS

In the beginning of March, Northeastern traveled to New Rochelle, New York to participate in AMTA’s Opening Round Championship Series, also known as ORCS! It was a historical moment for our program: the first time a team from our university has qualified to this level of the competition.

We did great!

Finishing the tournament with a record of 6-5-1 & an All-National Witnesses Award (27 ranks!!) by Kaedyn Murphy, the team continued to make history for the program.

And of course - the team had fun!

End of the Year Events!

3v3 Tournament

With the competition season coming to an end, the club organized a mini 3v3 mock trial tournament for a taste of trial time. Teams of 3 attorneys were given a case, a short amount of time to prepare, and had to present it in front of a judge. It was chaotic, fun, and memorable. We definitely honed in on those improv, public speaking, and quick thinking skills. Thanks Vince for the idea!

End of Year Banquet

To close up the season with good feelings and memories, mock trial hosted our annual end of year banquet. Captains recognized their teammates with funny superlatives, we laughed and reminisced at some hilarious quotes and photos from this year, and finished off with speeches from our members and seniors.

Thank You Seniors! We Love You!

Unfortunately, we did have to send off our beloved seniors at the end of the year. We can’t thank you enough for your leadership, mock trial expertise, and all the love and dedication you have given to this club. We wouldn’t be Northeastern Mock Trial without you guys! Best of luck for your future plans, and please come and visit!
